For a change... the Matterhorn!

It's not yet holiday time... good weather during the week... maybe a good moment for the "Horu"?

The anniversary ice axe, Rosi Bleuer and Laura Bomio seize the opportunity. In the first week of July, they stand in sunshine and good conditions on the 4478m high Matterhorn.
The evening before, it had thundered for a while and so the crampons had to be mounted before the lower Mosley slab. A total of 36 mountain guides from various countries lead a guest to the summit that day. The rope teams are well distributed, we are somewhere in the middle and we have the summit practically to ourselves. The view of Cervinia and of course of the neighbouring peaks is wonderful.

The descent on the Hore is just as demanding as the ascent. Thanks to the sun, however, we can put the crampons in the rucksack above the Solvey hut.
Very grateful and satisfied, enriched by an impressive mountain tour, we three Grindelwalders make our way home from Zermatt to Grindelwald in the evening. Congratulations and thanks to Rosi and Laura.

What's next for the anniversary ice axe?
