Climbing - Information for Schools and Clubs
Independent clubs or schools are welcome to use the bouldering and climbing areas. However, club leaders and teachers are responsible for ensuring rules and safety guidelines are followed.
Additional Instructor Support is available upon request for groups with no qualifications wishing to rope climb.
Rules and Guidelines
- A ratio of 1 teacher or leader to 8 students or group members required
- Group leaders and/or teachers are responsible for safety and supervision
- SAC, VSBK and Orbit rules and guidelines to be followed.
- Teachers or leaders with no official climbing qualifications are only allowed to boulder – following the above ratio of 1:8.
- For teachers or leaders with no qualifications, wishing to rope climb must request additional instructor support.

| Additional Instructor support | 150 CHF per 1.5 hours |
Teachers or group leaders’ entrance:
- Free (1 teacher per 8 participants with a minimum of 5 group participants)
- 24 CHF per additional teacher
- Climbing shoes for groups bouldering
- Climbing harnesses and belay device (Only for groups with qualified teachers and group leaders or for groups hiring an additional instructor)
- Sports clothing
- Drinking bottle
- Upon request (minimum 24 hrs notice required)
- Cancellation requests must be made at least 48 hours before trip time to be eligible for a refund.

Teacher / Group Leader Rules and Guidelines Session (Free)
For those leaders or teachers looking for additional support for your visit we will offer a 1-hour introduction to bouldering and climbing at Orbit for teachers or group leaders. We will cover rules, guidelines and give you some tips for entertaining your group at Orbit.
