Kids Beginner Group Ski Lessons
With games, fun & Snowli's help, skiing is made easy! The beginners' group lessons are aimed at children from the age of 3 who would like to learn to ski. Our youngest guests proudly demonstrate their skills at the ski race on Thursdays.
Lesson Details
Our lessons are structured according to the Swiss Snow League:
Bambini
Our Bambini group lessons are aimed at our youngest guests, children from 3 to 5 years old. With a helping hand from Snowli, our instructors playfully teach the little ones how to walk, glide and brake on skis.
Blue Prince
Beginners from 6 years and 3 to 5 year olds who have successfully completed the Bambini course are welcome in the Blue Prince group. We supervise the children in a playful way as they take their first steps in the snow, their first turns or maybe even their first t-bar lift ride.
Advanced Group Ski Lessons: Blue King, Blue Star, Red Prince, Red King, Red Star & Black Prince
Swiss Snow Academy Group Lessons
We offer beginner group lessons at these locations:
Bodmi Arena, by the children's club
The Bodmi Arena is our ski school site, which offers beginners and slightly advanced skiers the perfect infrastructure. It is located in the village of Grindelwald and can be reached by bus in 15 minutes. This means that parents do not need a ski pass to take their child there. In the Bodmi Arena we teach the levels Bambini, Blue Prince, Blue King & Blue Star.
Männlichen ski area, at the top station
In the Männlichen ski area we offer half-day group lessons for all levels from Bambini to Black Prince. As the meeting and pick-up point is in the ski area, this location is well suited for parents who would like to ski themselves during the child's lesson.
These two factors play a role in the choice of teaching location:
- Level of the child?
- What do the parents do during the lessons or do they have a ski pass?
Beginner group lessons take place at the following times at these locations:
- Morning / 10.00-13.00: Bodmi Arena & Männlichen
- Morning + lunch / 10.00-14.00: Bodmi Arena
- Full day incl. lunch / 10.00-16.00: Bodmi Arena
- Afternoon / 13.45-16.15: Bodmi Arena & Männlichen
Morning / 10.00-13.00
At both locations we offer 3h lessons in the morning. There is a tea break everywhere, where Snowli comes to visit in the Bodmi Arena. Lessons take place daily, and it is possible to join a group from Saturday to Tuesday.
Morning + Lunch / 10.00-14.00
Thanks to our kids' club, we can offer 3h morning lessons (see above) followed by a supervised lunch from Monday to Friday at the Bodmi Arena. Lunch can also be booked on individual days only.
Full day incl. lunch / 10.00-16.00
Together with the "children registered for the morning only", 3-hour lessons take place in the morning. Afterwards, lunch is served in the kids' club in the Bodmi Arena. For Bambini & Blue Prince, the afternoon programme includes outdoor or indoor fun and games (without skis). This offer can be booked from Monday to Friday, starting on Monday or Tuesday.
Afternoon / 13.45-16.15
We offer group lessons in the afternoon daily at both locations only during the high season weeks. It is possible to join the course from Saturday to Tuesday.
Please note that the meeting is 20 minutes before the lesson starts.

Also, please be aware of that there might be another instructor teaching on the weekend than during the week.

The rental equipment must be purchased in advance from the Outdoor Shop & Café at Dorfstrasse 103 in Grindelwald. Please note that the journey from the shop by bus or car takes approx. 15 minutes to the Bodmi Arena or Männlichenbahn (+ approx. 25 minutes gondola ride).
Ski passes can also be bought at our shop in the village or at the Bodmi Arena.
At the start of lessons at 10.00:
- 09.40 Bodmi Arena, at the children's club
- 09.40 Männlichen mountain station, by the wooden cow (playground)
For afternoon lessons starting at 13.45:
- 13.30 Bodmi Arena, at the Children's Club
- 13.30 Männlichen mountain station, at the wooden cow (playground)
In order for the course to take place, we need at least 3 participants. Courses with less than 3 children will be shortened, merged or cancelled.
Booked group lessons can be cancelled by the participant up to 5pm on the evening before the first day of the lesson without incurring any costs. Cancellations after this time with a valid medical note will also be 100% refunded. Participants will be charged 100% for all other cancellations made after 5pm on the evening before the lesson.
