Day 1: From Grindelwald to Rosenlaui

You will meet your guide at the “Oberer Gletscher” bus stop in Grindelwald. From here you will strap on your snowshoes and begin your hike. You will steadily climb through the forest and over gentle hills to the Stepfihütte. You will recharge with a refreshment from your backpack before the ascent to Grosse Scheidegg. At the top, you will stand at the dividing line between Grindelwald and Meiringen, surrounded by sloping hills and steep rock faces. You will have a leisurely descent to Schwarzwaldalp, where you will enter a protected area. Here you will hopefully catch glimpses of chamois. Another short ascent will lead you to the Brochhütte, where you will end the day with a warm drink.

Day 2: Round tour around the Cheerhubel and through Wischbääch

Early in the morning you will start from the Brochhütte towards Pfanni. In the gentle hollows you will climb past Cheerhubel to Hagelseewli. Linger here a little while to enjoy some peace and quiet and see if you can observe chamois as they feed. Your hike will continue through the Wischbääch valley down past Schwarzhorn and Gemschberg to the alp Scheidegg Oberläger. One more small ascent will lead you to the Chiemattenhubel at 2028m. Take in the summit views before descending back to Grindelwald.
