Day 1: Ascent to Trugberg 3880m and descent to Konkordiahütte 2850m

Meet your guide at Grindelwald Terminal, make your way to the Jungfraujoch, and check your equipment. Reach the Aletsch Glacier by way of the tunnel and begin your short climb to the Mönchsjoch. Ski over the Ewig Schneefeld (“eternal snowfield”) to the foot of the Trugberg wall. Put on your skins and work towards the summit, depositing your skis near the top and completing the last part of the ascent on foot. Savour your accomplishment and take a break at the summit before the next highlight begins: a 1000m descent to the Konkordia Hut. Make your way up the infamous staircase to arrive at your accommodation.

Day 2: Grünegghorn 3787m

The Grünegghorn stands majestic and protected alongside its bigger brother, the Grünhorn and is well known for impressive views of the entire Konkordiaplatz and the Ewig Schneefeld. The ski-touring peak is reached over a series of glacial terraces belonging to the Grüneggfirn. After the descent, another short climb delivers you to the Grünhornlücke and eventually to the Finsteraarhorn hut.

Day 3: The Big Wannenhorn 3906m

Today’s trip can be enjoyed without a heavy backpack, as you’ll be returning to the Finsteraarhorn hut. Begin the day with a short ski down the Fiescher glacier. You’ll climb up to the west of the Triftridge until the horizon opens up and you find yourself on the ridge leading up to the summit of the Gross Wannenhorn. The Finsteraarhorn, the highest Bernese peak at 4274m, lies huge and impressive to the north. To the south you can see the peaks of the Goms valley.

Day 4: Final tour to the front Galmihorn 3517m

Begin the day with a short ski down the Fiescher glacier as far as the Rotloch. A gentle ascent up the Galmi glacier and then onto the north facing ridge will lead you to its peak. Relish the final summit views of the tour and prepare for the descent. Depending on snow conditions, you will ski down through the Bächital or over the Heji Zwächte to Reckingen or Münster in the Goms valley. Journey home in the late afternoon.
