Igloo building
Learn how to build a proper igloo with expert instruction
Together, we’ll arrive by foot, sled or on snowshoes at our igloo building site surrounded by the magical snow-covered scenery of the Jungfrau region.
With the expert instruction of your OUTDOOR guides, you’ll build your own igloo block by block. This form of Inuit architecture requires stamina, precision and cooperation. We’ll start out by sawing out the individual blocks of snow from a slab of snow compacted by a vehicle used to groom ski slopes. Next, we’ll place the blocks of snow in a circle and stack them up closer and closer to form the igloo dome. While sipping on a hot beverage, you can discuss your new skills with others. Finally, enjoy refreshments and/or dinner to round off your OUTDOOR experience in the Jungfrau region.
This event is designed to facilitate team building:
The igloo building activity promotes more effective and harmonious teamwork because creating a viable final product is only possible through good communication and cooperation.
