Summit Ski Tour Monte Rosa
A summit ski tour in the Monte Rosa area is a MUST for every ski tourer! The selected peaks are excellent ski touring destinations with rather low technical difficulty. Despite their relative ease, these 4000m peaks should not be underestimated - their ascent requires a good amount of endurance, and the altitude can have a significant impact on the physical strain of the tour. The Monte Rosa ski tour impresses with great glacier surfaces, imposing mountain peaks and magnificent views.

Day 1: Arrival in Zermatt
Meet your guide at the Zermatt. Complete an equipment check to prepare for the next morning, and get to know each other over dinner. (You have to book your accommodation for the 1. night yourself.)
Day 2: Ascent of the Breithorn 4164m
Today you’ll tackle the first 4000er of this multiday touring program. First take the train up to the Klein Matterhorn. From there you will mount your skins and climb up to the Breithorn. A short ascent leads you to the summit. You’ll descend briefly, then climb to Schwarztor before enjoying a unique descent over the Schwärze glacier. Having reached the Gorner glacier, you’ll mount your skins again and climb to the Monte Rosa hut.
Day 3: Collecting four-thousanders
Early in the morning you’ll climb over the Grenz glacier to Ludwigshöhe at 4341m. With every meter of altitude the air gets a little thinner, so the climb will be slow and steady. After Ludwigshöhe, you’ll visit Parrot Peak at 4432, Corno Nero at 4322m, and the Vincent Pyramid at 4215m before descending to the Gnifetti hut.
Day 4: Visit to the highest mountain hut in Europe
You’ll begin your ascent from the Gnifetti hut, passing the Vincent Pyramid, Parrot Peak, Corno Nero and Ludwigshöhe before reaching the Signalkuppe at 4554m. Here sits the highest mountain hut in Europe. This high vantage point will great you with thin air and magnificent views- eternal ice on one side, and blooming Italian valleys on the other. After a rest on the summit you’ll enjoy the long descent back to the Monte Rosa hut. On the terrace you can treat yourself to a cool drink and take in the mountain panorama.
Day 5: Ascent of the Cima di Jazzi 3803m
The final day of touring brings all your summits into view. Climb over the Gorner glacier to the Cima di Jazzi- a great panoramic peak that offers instant nostalgia for the previous days. Enjoy a long and impressive descent to Zermatt, where you can reminisce about your tour over a cool drink.
