Day 1: Skitour over the Fuorcla d'Agnel
After the meeting point and the equipment check, we set off on the ascent to Fuorcla d'Agnel. The landscape up here resembles a lunar landscape. We reach the pass and descend on the other side. As it is north-oriented the snow is great and we enjoy the skiing. A short climb takes us to the Jenatsch hut.
Day 2: Climbing Piz Laviner and descending Val Mulix
Today we start with a somewhat challenging traverse. We circle around Piz Jenatsch and climb up to Fuorcla Laviner. A few more metres and we deposit our skis. We climb the Piz Laviner on foot. We take the same route back down. We mount our skis and set off on the long descent through the Val Mulix. After a descent of almost 1500 metres, we reach Preda. We then take a short train journey to Bergün before arriving at our accommodation.
Day 3: Ascent to the Keschhut
We have various options for today. The mountain guide will decide which of the options is the best. On the one hand, we can ascend through Val Tuors and continue via Fuorcla da Funtauna to the Keschhütte - this is mostly uphill. Or we can first take the ski lifts in the Bergün ski area and reach Alp Digl Chant via Piz Darlux before ascending via Fuorcla da Funtauna. Depending on the route, we reach the Keschhütte a little earlier or later and still have the opportunity to climb Piz Kesch Pitschen.
Day 4: Ski tour to the Scalettahorn and descent to Grialetschhut
After a delicious breakfast, we have a leisurely start today. We descend into Val dal Tschüvel and continue through Val Funtauna to Alp Funtauna. The skiing is pretty flat here and so we can cruise through the valleys. At the Alp we start our hike and climb up to the Scalettahorn. After a short rest, we descend again and traverse over to Fuorcla Vallorgia. From here, another magnificent descent to the Grialetsch hut awaits us.
Day 5: Descent to Davos
Today we again have various options and the mountain guide chooses the best one for us. One option is to first descend from the Grialetschhütte into the Dischma valley, then climb the Augstenhüreli and enjoy another racy descent into the Sertig valley. Another option is to descend directly into the Dischma valley, although this option is more likely to be chosen in bad weather. If the weather is good, we want to make the most of the last day and the various descents towards Davos are just the right end to our five-day Bünder Haute Route.
