You have prior ski touring experience and are comfortable in different snow conditions. Please be aware that during this entire tour the altitude is between 3200müM and 3500müM and you will need the required fitness to handle the altitude.

This package includes round-trip transportation and all services of the tour (a professional guide and round-trip ticket). You conveniently pay the entire tour price once at the train counter, receive your ticket and your adventure starts!

This round-trip ticket is valid from the station where you purchase your ticket from. This will be your starting and ending point, for example: Interlaken Ost - Jungfraujoch - Blatten - Interlaken Ost.

The package with round-trip ticket can be purchased at train stations in Interlaken Ost or Grindelwald village with the note "Guided Ski Tour Lötschenlücke by Outdoor". Please note that the purchase of the round-trip ticket is not possible at the station Grindelwald Terminal.

Please allow extra time at the train station if you are planning to purchase your round-trip ticket on the morning of the tour. Tickets can also be purchased from 2pm on the day before the tour at the stations listed above. As the counters in Grindelwald are still closed early in the morning, you have to buy it the evening before, if you want to buy it in Grindelwald. The counter in Interlaken Ost is daily open from 6am.

Car drivers are best advised to park in Interlaken Ost.

If you have a GA or do not need the entire round-trip, we recommend you purchase transportation individually and pay for the tour costs (guiding only) directly with us by credit card.

For private groups of 5+ the round-trip package is available. Private groups of 1-4 must purchase their transportation separately, and pay for tour costs directly with us.

Day ski tour to Jungfraujoch - Lötschenlücke 3173m - Lötschental

Meet your guide at Grindelwald Terminal and take the Eiger Express to Eigergletscher. From here you will continue by train to the Jungfraujoch. Under the expert guidance of your mountain guide, you will ski towards Konkordiaplatz. From there you will mount your skins and climb over the Grossen Aletschfirn to the Lötschenlücke. Your rewards at the top include a breath-taking view of the Aletschhorn north face and the quiet stillness of this unique mountain environment. Your descent over the Lang Glacier into the Lötschental is long and no less impressive than the ascent. After an obligatory glass of Valais white wine in Blatten in Lötschental, you will begin your journey home and take a train back to Interlaken.

We do not offer specific snowboard group tours. If you are an accomplished and experienced splitboard tourer, you are welcome to sign up for the normal group tour, as long as you are experienced in disassembling and reassembling your board. The Lötschenlücke ski tour is generally not particularly suitable for snowboarders, as there are several flat sections on the descents.

Trip status for group courses

1-2 days before your tour or course we will review the weather forecast and conditions with the mountain guide to determine if we can operate. We will contact you by phone with an update.

Minimum of participants (group tours)

As soon as the minimum number of participants is reached, we will send you a confirmation by email.

Cancellation

If we have to cancel your tour, you have the option to reschedule to a new date, or you will receive a full refund.

Equipment

Please refer to the equipment list for your tour or course. At our shop in Grindelwald, you can purchase technical equipment, mountain clothing, shoes, and backpacks. We also have technical equipment available for rent.

Clothing

Choose functional clothing that is moisture-wicking and quick-drying. Dress in layers so you can easily react to temperature changes. The range at our shop in Grindelwald is tailored to mountain tours and our expert staff are happy to advise you on the best clothing for your tour or course.

Lunch

Lunch is not included in the offer. We recommend bringing bars, dried fruits, nuts, or a sandwich. The amount you will need to drink depends on your individual needs and the length of the tour. We recommend .75 -1.5 liters of water, warm tea, isotonic drinks, or whatever you prefer. We also recommend that you hydrate enough the day before, so your body is well prepared for the tour.

Huts

A mountain hut is not a hotel. Running water is not guaranteed and electricity is not available everywhere, so it is not always possible to charge batteries or phones. If you have special dietary needs, please inform us in advance so we can make arrangements with the hut.

Safety

Our tours and courses are led by IVBV certified mountain guides or mountain guide aspirants. We prioritise your safety by requiring regular training to ensure our guides have relevant, up to date knowledge. Outdoor is certified by the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BFU) and our safety and emergency concepts are audited by this organization annually.
